On Sunday, we had some pretty icky weather. It was rainy, sleeting, hailing, and freezing.

So, John decided this was a great time to head out to the garage and put together our new grill. He rounded up Lily as his assistant and they began the 2.5 hour process of putting the grill together.

It was some good quality time and they completed the grill successfully. We even had a little chicken on the grill for dinner on Tuesday.

On Monday Lily's school took a field trip to UNC. Ordinarily, you might think a trip scheduled for March in North Carolina would guarantee some great weather. Well, that was not the case on Monday. It was chilly and windy and we even saw a few snowflakes! But, despite the weather we enjoyed the trip.

80!!!!

Today is my dad's 80th birthday!!!! 

He has always been such a wonderful father, a loving husband, and a terrific grandpa to his six grandchildren. Hope your day is the best, dad.

Lily's school team played two games this past week. She got in for a bit of play and served the final point of the match to win for the day. So excited for her!

Tournament Season is Over

Yesterday Lily had her last volleyball tournament for the season. It was an exciting day of matches. Her team won the championship and each and every game had us on the edge of our seats! So exciting.

Multiplication Madness

Shelly's grade is having their yearly March Madness event at school today. Remember, we're in major basketball country here, so most of March revolves around college basketball games. They even watch the games in the cafeteria at lunch!

But, the actual March Madness at Shelly's school is a multiplication playoff among the classrooms. Her class is representing Wake Forest. So, she wore her WF t-shirt and a ribbon to accompany her look. She was so excited to go off to school today for the big event!!!

Updated to add: Shelly's team won the Multiplication Madness!!! She was a very happy multiplier when she got home!

On our way to pick up Lily and her friends from practice the other day, Shelly complained that she had nothing to do in the car. So, in an attempt to quickly get us out the door and keep her happy, I grabbed my camera and told her to take pictures of what she saw along the way.

And, that's just what she did and I love the results!
