Shelly recently went to a friend's birthday party where they did the girls' hair and makeup. When the girls were done they all looked like a bunch of 6 & 7 year olds who were ready for the prom. It cracked me up! In the late hours of the evening, I finally took some pictures of Shelly in her new look. Notice the bright glittery pink eyeshadow! And, we all loved her hairstyle. So pretty.

S'Mores Indoors
For a little Memorial Day weekend treat, we opted for some indoor s'mores. They were really quite good. It was super quick and easy, too.
Line a pan with aluminum foil and place the graham crackers on the foil. Then top with marshmallows and chocolate bar pieces.
Put under a broiler until the marshmallows start to brown. This didn't take more than about a minute (if that).
Then put your s'mores together and enjoy!
Happy Memorial Day to all. Thanks to all who are and have served our country!

Cherries and the Sky
We have this really amazing Weeping Cherry tree on the path to our backyard. I love this tree. When the blossoms are on the tree, it is just beautiful.
Then the weeping limbs arrive with their bright green leaves.
And...just the other day I noticed a bunch of little orbs with a stem all over the sidewalk near the tree. Sure enough it was a bunch of little cherries. The tree actually has cherries on it. This is the first time we've seen the cherries on the tree.
I did a little research and it appears that some of these cherries are posionous. I am not quite sure about ours but we aren't going to take any chances. But, they sure are cute to see hanging from our tree.
And in other news, the evening skies have been filled with storms and wind. Here is what I saw out my front door the other night.
Kind of creepy and amazingly beautiful all at the same time, huh?

Graduations 1 & 2
In the month of May, we have attended two college graduations for our nieces. The first one took place at James Madison University in Virginia. The second graduation was at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Both were such special and exciting events. It's so much fun to see these women finish one chapter of their life and begin a new one as adults.
