We are getting ready for Lily's birthday party on the 12th. She has decided to have an American Idol event with 11 friends. So, I created the invitations and made CDs of songs that we will karaoke to at the party. Each invitation will come with a CD. This was easy and I think it turned out cute. I used a double sided plastic CD sleeve and put the CD on one side and slid the invitation in the other side. Here's the invitation (I removed some of the important info):
Next up, I tagged myself via Jody's blog....list 7 random facts about yourself:

1. I wear my hair in a scrunchie when I sleep because I get so warm at night...and scrunchie always makes me think of the Sex and the City episode about scruchies.

2. I decorated the inside of my closet door with pictures from GQ magazine when I was in high school.

3. My mother was my 9th grade Geometry teacher and my dad taught me Driver's Ed refresher course after I got a speeding ticket (so I could remove the points from my record).

4. I love unsweetened iced tea with lots of lemon.

5. I haven't scrapbooked in about 2 months...sewing has taken its place for a bit.

6. I listen to Clark Howard to get all kinds of financial tips.

7. I had a beagle named Lucy as a child and I got my cat, Mini, when I was 16.

Ok, so if you read this and have a blog, go forth and list away and leave me a comment with a link, please.

Wow!!! Lily and I returned yesterday late afternoon from the mountain trip. It was three fun-filled jam packed days in the mountains. Her elementary school offers several fun trips to their students. Last year, we went on the beach trip and this year we were off to the mountains of North Carolina. So fun and really interesting. We visited an old fort, went to a trout hatchery, learned about forests, rode on the Smoky Mountain train, visited Cherokee, went gem mining, made pottery, and hiked in the mountains. I can't get over how much the teachers are willing to do for their students. We are so thankful for them and feel like Lily receives an exclusive education in a public school...can't beat that!!! So, here are a few of the photos from our trip:

Haven't done much digiscrapping, so I pulled up some pictures to work on this morning. Here are a few of the results of my scrapping:

I spent the afternoon sewing a pillow for Shelly's cribby and attempted to make a skirt for Lily. The skirt was a bit small around the waist, so I turned it into a skirt for Shelly.

Also, loving this song and artist. Saw this video about a week ago and was addicted. Then he appeared on Oprah yesterday and I fell in love with the song once again. Oddly, I wondered at the time if he was related to Alan Thicke (Growing Pains dad) and sure enough he is the son of Alan Thicke.

For those of you who don't know me too well, you might not know that I spent a year at Virginia Tech. I really loved going to school there, but I was far from home and didn't always spend my time doing the right thing...like attending classes. But, I still loved being a Hokie and loved being in Blacksburg. I am so sad for the students, the professors, the employees, and the families of those associated with Tech. My heart goes out to each and everyone of them and my thoughts are constantly with them. God Bless.

As I go through my list of blog reading, I am amazed at the number of people who didn't mention this event in their posts today. Not so sure why, but maybe they are just moving forward in life and not dwelling on it. Not sure. Just don't want the people involved to be forgotten.

Lots of fun on our trip. These are just some of the memories we caught while we were there. Some of the best memories will always remain in my heart and my mind. Good little girls, good times, "goodness"...

On another note, sending out prayers to the families of the victims at Virginia Tech this morning. God Bless.
