07.31.06

Thought I'd do a photo montage of what we've been up to the past few days.

Shelly the day after falling out of the car onto the driveway. So, here's the story: we were at the clubhouse and heading to a friend's home just a block away. The girls were in the back of John's car (Tahoe) and not in their car seats (bad idea). We get to the house and I open up the door for Shelly to get out, only to find her leaning against the door and she falls on to the driveway. It all happened in about 3 seconds and I was devastated. Shelly cried for about 5 minutes and then was playing and laughing. She is a trooper.
Lily and Shelly doing some crafts together in their craft aprons. Shelly's floral number was mine as a child.
Shelly doing what she loves best...sucking her thumb.

Oh, and for a closer look at all photos, click on the image for a larger size. Hoping to create more layouts of the past few days' events. All for now.

07.25.06

Today, we eagerly awaited 10 AM. Why, you ask? Because of this:
She loved every minute of this show. It was her first time seeing it and she is now walking throughout the house singing the words to the theme song. Lily is now a Brady Bunch groupie...just like her mother was a mere 33 years ago. And, this new phenomena has translated into a love of morning TV Land shows...Green Acres, I Love Lucy, The Munsters, etc.

After all of this tv viewing, we headed out for some school supplies. We needed to finish purchasing the items on her list and so, we were nonconformists and went to KMART. I decided that we should slip into Kmart and avoid the throngs of people at Target. And, it worked beautifully...I don't think people shop at Kmart anymore. So, we had the place to ourselves and back to school shopping was a breeze. The backpack is now filled with all of the new goodies and ready for school on August 14th. Ugh, so soon. Another topic to be discussed at a later time.

My final topic of the eve, The Family Stone...the movie with Sarah Jessica Parker. I really enjoyed this movie. I watched it last night and was pleasantly surprised at how entertaining I found it. It was an interesting view of family dynamics.

07.23.06

Hi to all my faithful blog readers..ha ha...I have been in a bit of a funk lately and therefore not feeling very bloggy. So, I am attempting to lift the fog...

This week, we came back from VB/Ft. Lauderdale and did laundry, played Barbies, made a new dinner, bought a lunch box and backpack, made a CD, attended a PTA board meeting, dusted and vacuumed, and organized. So, not too much exciting has happened in my world. I am aware that things don't always need to be nonstop fun, but I am looking forward to a bit more entertainment next week.

Ok, this is going down as my most lame blog post, yet. So sorry faithful readers...I'll work on it!

I'll part with a few more photos from Florida:

My sister and her corona at Hard Rock!

Me and Linda at the Hard Rock outdoor bar!

07.19.06

We arrived home in North Carolina yesterday. My sister and I had a terrific time in Florida. Here is a little photo layout of some of the fun. I'll be back with more stories and photos in the next few days. Today, I am doing laundry, playing Barbies, creating CDs for Lily and her portable CD player, making lunch, and capturing it all on my digital camera. Have a good day. Me, by the cool pool...

Hitting the highlights since the last post:
  • We pulled out the Slip 'N Slide from Aunt Stacy and Uncle Pat for a little backyard fun...
  • Then we spent the afternoon at a friend's community pool. The girls loved it!
  • We celebrated the 4th of July at our neighbor's home...complete with a parade and golf cart decorating!
Then it was on to Myrtle Beach with John's family. We had lots of fun together at the pool, the beach, and the shops.

Sofia is here visiting for a few days and then the girls and I will head to Virginia Beach. From there, Linda and I are off to Florida for a long weekend of fun and sun!!!
