06.30.06

Felt compelled to create this layout this morning and wanted to share. My perfectly wonderful hubby.

06.30.06

Finally the sun has come out of hiding. The girls and I spent the day at the pool. It was absolutely wonderful...sun shining, girls splashing, and magazine reading. Shelly ventured further into the water this time. Little by little, I think she is becoming more comfortable in the pool. My girls are cautious and I am all for cautious. I appreciate that in a person and they come by it honestly.

Here are a few layouts I have done recently:
Love to do some fun digiscrapping. Found a designer that I am really liking right now...Michelle Underwood.

Looking forward to the 4th of July celebrations. We have one party to attend and that should be fun. Hope it is a wonderful time for one and all.

We were busy today in the rooms of Shelly and Lily. We had three piles...trash, treasure, and donate. I am always so surprised at how readily Lily adds items to the donate pile. I love that about her. She is a natural born purger...awe...love it!!!!!!!!!! When we finished, we had two bags of trash, 3 bags of donations, a large plastic Barbie house for donation, and a big bag of goodies for our friend's baby-to-be. So, after purging we took some photos and then I digi scrapped them. So, here are the results of our day.

First day of summer! Love summer and all it has to offer. Love the sun, the warmth, the outside, the beach, the smells, the food...love it. Looking forward to some down time next week when we can enjoy it all. Spending this week organizing...everything from the drawers, the closets, all the way to the computer files! Feels very good. Liberating in fact.

Yesterday, I ran across our marriage license and reminesced about our wedding day with Lily. It was fun to look at the photos and think back to all of the events that led up to that day. I love you, John.

So, in his honor...here's a photo of my beloved hubby!

And here is a new digital scrapbook page of Lily:

So, enjoy these lazy days of summer!

06.20.06

We've been gone for a bit so I haven't had much time to update the old blog. We attended my niece's high school graduation...very cool:

Then we headed to VB for a week of fun in the sun. That turned out to be about 3 good sunny days, but fun nonetheless. Here is Lily after a run-in with the pool stairs and Shelly playing by the pool.

Then my sister and niece drove us back home. They stayed for a couple of days and don't ya know my big sis organized my laundry room, as well as, the donwstairs linen closet! Loved it. Hated to see them go.

Finally, it was on to Father's Day and some family time. We made John a "shirt" cake, got him a few golf realted items, and went off to the park. It was a nice day. John said it was his best Father's Day, ever!

This week, Lily is in pottery camp and I am organizing various spots in the home. I have the pantry, the girls' closets, and the wash under control. Today, I'm hitting the linen closet and my closet. Great feeling! I will try to keep this blog rolling over the summer.

And here's a great quote: I'm too blessed to be stressed!

Well, she did it. She passed Kindergarten with flying colors and is ready to head off to 1st grade next year. We are now calling her a 1st grader and she loves it. Lily did such a great job today at the graduation ceremony. It was all so special and sweet. I cried, of course. They played a perfect song as the children walked out of the ceremony. It's called, My Wish, by Rascal Flatts and it was so moving. A terrific way to end the day. Then, it was off to the pool party at our friend's home. We got there at 11:45 and didn't leave until 6:30!!! The kids had so much fun together and the weather was awesome...oh, and the blender drinks rocked. Here are some photos of the day:

06.06.06

Well, there are those funky numbers!!! That date is pretty wild.

I successfully helped out with Lily's field day yesterday. I was in charge of the spoon race. The kids had a great time with it and took it all very seriously. After four hours outside, I picked up Shelly from John at Panera's and enjoyed a yummy sandwich and some soup.

Last night, Lily took apart her box of little Kelly dolls while I was putting together her teacher's gifts for the end of the year. She did fairly well with all of the nerve wracking bits and pieces involved in the packaging of children's toys. Anyway, here are some photos of the latest gifts for the teachers:

Lily is off to school for her last full day. She is taking one of her magic items to perform a trick. I hope it goes well. Tomorrow, my little girl will graduate from Kindergarten. It is unbelieveable that this school year has come to an end. My thoughts (our journey) reflect back to those first days of school and my apprehension about letting my little girl go. What a wonderful experience Lily has had this year. I can only hope that she will continue to grow and flourish as easily in the years to come. Moving on is bitter sweet, but I become more and more accepting of it every day.

06.04.06

Wow, really exceeding my blogging goal of one post every other day! Anyway, we made it to Target and found three lovely new toilet brushes along with a cool magic kit for Lily!

Came home and made those blueberry muffins and put the boxes together for Lily's teachers (art, music, PE, etc.). So, here are some photos of them in the making stages:

Thinking I'd like to blog on an almost every other day basis, now. Just getting inspired by others who blog more often. I know I get excited when a particular blogger has updated their musings and such.

Anyway, the girls and I just did a major organization of papers from school. I got two XL pizza boxes at Dominos the other night and Lily sorted through her treasures from Kindergarten. She saved what she wanted and put it into the box. We labeled the outside of the boxes with the school year and now they will easily slip under a bed for storage. Loving it!!! Then I organized the game closet (a la HGTV) and got rid of unnecessary game boxes putting the game items in large ziplocs that were labeled with the game name. We also went to town on the cabinet that houses arts and crafts items. Now, they are all neatly organized with the various supplies put away in an orderly manner. It feels good!!!! No, really good to organize all of this stuff and purge!!!!

So, after all of this we are rewarding ourselves with a little trip to Target for toilet bowl brushes (not digging the current wand system I'm using). Also, Lily will use one of her many gift cards for a little treasure for herself. Love a good Target run. Oh, and may even make a stop for lunch while we're out and about.

When we return, I need to make the blueberry muffins that are going in the boxes for Lily's school. I'm putting together little gift boxes with a coffee mug, Starbucks gift card, and muffins for the various extra teachers Lily goes to each week (art, music, p.e., etc.). Happy Sunday! Here's a little photo from the birthday party last week:

Have been dabbling with my digi scrapping stuff and thought I'd share a few pages. I actually did four pages today...feels good. Here they are:

In the land of boring news, I had a pedicure and an eyebrow wax today! Just splendid. Going out to dinner with the girls and John tonight. Looking forward to that. All is well. Happy days to one and all.

06.01.06

Yes, another entry on 06.01.06...cool numbers, huh? Anyway, over the Memorial Day weekend, we went to VB and surprised Hannah-Sophia for her 6th birthday. She had a super cool dog party and the girls loved every minute of the fun. So, I wanted to share the fabu pics from the festivities.

Lily had her awards ceremony on Tuesday and she did so well. I was beyond proud of this little girl. She achieved all of the goals I had for her in my head and then went way above my expectations. Here she is receiving her trophy, certificates, and medal.
Mr. Hensley (principal), Lily, and Mrs. Hedgecock (her teacher)

In just three and a half days Lily will wrap up her Kindergarten year. It is so hard to imagine all that she has accomplished in that school year. Her teachers were outstanding and the school, as a whole, is awesome. With it's character and charm, this little school has managed to care, nurture, and educate these children. We are truly blessed to have our child in such a super environment. As we approach the next school year, we will launch into a brand new building. How exciting to smell fresh paint and pretty new carpet. But, best of all, how exciting to see the same caring and loving faces in the hallways. That's what makes this school so special.
